We are diving into another project reveal from our California Cool Project! Today we will cover the living room of this beautiful home with a relaxed, California vibe. We had the privilege of renovating and furnishing the whole home while our clients were living out of state. Right to begin with, we set the tone of the home by installing these Monaco 12 inch wide European Oak hardwood floors. I love the natural color to them and how you can see the knots throughout. Initially, this home had at least four different types of flooring throughout the main level. It felt really inconsistent and confusing. By installing the same flooring throughout the home, (except for bathrooms and the laundry room,) it made the home feel more connected and cohesive. The wall paint color is one of our LDCO favorites: White Flour by Sherwin Williams. It is a beautiful soft white that's not too stark.
These dark built-ins used to be a cherry-colored stained wood that felt a little dated. We had them painted the color Midnight by Benjamin Moore in a satin finish for a dramatic effect. It's a nice contrast from the white walls & lighter furnishings. We also sanded down the center beam and had it re-stained in a lighter finish. From it we installed this gorgeous two-tiered chandelier that provided a wow factor for the room.
We brought in a little pattern play with the use of stripes, chevron and more stripes! Because the furniture was neutral, we had some room for some fun patterns throughout. This rug is a favorite; it is hand-tufted, 100% wool- so very plush and cozy.
If you are looking for a pretty tv option, we love the Samsung Frame TV that doubles as artwork. We always enjoy selecting different artwork options to change up the feel of the room. This particular tv has the natural bezel in beige surrounding it.
