In honor of Mother Day this coming Sunday, today's post is dedicated to things from a motherly perspective. I can't help but thing of self care and family time, so here are five things that any mother would appreciate.
1. Favorite countertop material: Soapstone (or at least one of my favorites;)
I can go on and on about the beauty of natural stone: marble, soapstone, quartzite, dolomite are allll good options. We just finished up a powder bathroom renovation where we were able to incorporate a floating soapstone vanity.
We started off designing the soapstone vanity and carefully coordinated the install with our fabricator. He did an awesome job! We contrasted the dark soapstone countertops and charcoal grasscloth wallpaper accent wall, with a light marble hexagon floor tile. The walls were painted with one of our Tried and True white paint colors, Chantilly Lace by Benjamin Moore. It's a beautiful crisp white that lightened up the perimeter walls in just the right way.
2. Favorite bathtub accessories: Wooden Stools & Candles
I often choose to pair a stand-alone tub with a simple, minimal accent stool. It serves as a place to set a good candle & bathtub products, and helps to create that calming vibe. I hope all the moms out there are able to have a little self-care time this weekend! You can find one of our go-to candle options here.

3. Favorite Coffee Maker: the Chemex Pour-Over
I happen to be coffee obsessed; in fact I'm drinking some as I write this post. It's safe to say I've tried multiple types of coffee makers over the years, and this one is my absolute favorite. Granted, it takes a little longer to prepare each morning, but it is SO WORTH IT. In fact, I tend to enjoy the process and routine. I also enjoy incorporating dedicated coffee nooks in our designs. They are a must-have if you are a coffee drinker!

4. Favorite vase: White-Dipped Flower Vase
I love to pick up fresh flowers on the weekends. They always bring so much life to an interior space. Often times if something feels missing in a room, add fresh flowers or greenery and that will do the trick. This vase is one of our best sellers from our LDCO Shoppe. I usually fill it with white hydrangeas... so. classic.
5. My favorite "job" I have ever had is being a mother. I couldn't be more thankful for our three children and the way they bring joy to our lives. Being a business owner and a mother can be hectic & busy, to say the least. But I truly wouldn't have it any other way. Bring on the baseball games and gymnastics practices! Without a doubt, my greatest happiness in life is being a mother to Jude, Audrey, & Nolan.

Laura
